Molly Gloss is an American writer. She was born in Oregon in 1944,  and is the author of The Jump-Off CreekThe Dazzle of DayWild LifeThe Hearts of Horses and Falling From Horses. Her work has earned numerous awards–including an Oregon Book Award, a Pacific Northwest Booksellers Award, the PEN West Fiction Prize, the James Tiptree Jr. Award, and a Whiting Writers Award. She has taught writing and literature of the American West at Portland State University and was a close friend of Ursula K. Leguin.
